Overview
The 2026 World Cup Vote Prediction App is a lightweight fan-driven prediction platform built for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The idea is simple: users open the app, choose the team they believe will win the tournament, and follow how the community is voting in real time. There is no signup, no email requirement, no ads, and no tracking — just a fast and simple voting experience for football fans.
Main Features
Vote for the Winner
Users can vote for the team they think will lift the trophy.
Each fan gets one vote and one opportunity to switch their pick. After that, the vote is locked, making the prediction more meaningful while still giving users a small chance to change their mind.
Live Group Standings
The app includes a group-stage view that updates as scores are added.
It follows the new 48-team World Cup format:
- Top 2 teams from each group qualify automatically
- The best 8 third-place teams also advance
- Qualified teams move into the Round of 32
Scores are manually updated by me as the source of truth.
Auto-Filling Bracket
The bracket view is connected to the group standings.
As group results are settled, the knockout bracket automatically fills with the teams that qualify. This makes it easy to follow how the tournament path develops from the group stage to the final.
Community Chat
The app also includes a simple discussion system for fans.
Users can:
- Post messages
- Reply in threads
- React with emojis
- Filter posts by most liked, most replies, or their own posts
- Pick a display name and color the first time they post
The chat is designed to feel quick and casual without requiring an account.
Privacy-Focused Experience
One of the main goals of this project was to keep the app simple and privacy-friendly.
There is:
- No signup
- No email
- No ads
- No tracking
- No unnecessary user data collection
Users can open the app, vote, chat, and follow the tournament without creating an account.
Why I Built It
I built this project as a fun football-focused web app for the 2026 World Cup.
The goal was to create something simple, interactive, and easy for fans to use during the tournament — a place where people can vote, compare predictions, follow standings, and talk about the matches without friction.
It also gave me the opportunity to build a real-time style tournament experience with voting logic, group calculations, bracket progression, and community interaction.
